School Policies

Attendance Policy:

  • A $30 fee will be charged if Champion Driving Logistics is not notified of a cancellation with at least 24 hours notice prior to a lesson.

  • This fee will also be charged if a student is a no-show or arrives for their lesson but the permit has expired, does not have their permit with them, and/or does not have corrective lenses as noted on the permit.

  • Students who arrive after consuming alcohol or drugs, or who are demonstrating rude, disrespectful or otherwise offensive behavior will not be allowed to participate in their lesson, either by refusal to start or end the lesson early, and will be charged a no-show fee.

  • Students who arrive late may also be considered a no-show if they are not able to drive for the full 55 minute lesson.

  • Driving lessons will be held as scheduled regardless of weather conditions unless such conditions become dangerous. Please contact the Champion Driving Logistics by phone or email if you are concerned about weather conditions, but keep in mind that "dangerous conditions" are defined by Champion Driving Logistics as conditions that make roadways reasonably impassable. This includes ice or flood but not rain or in some cases sleet or snow that does not stick. Cancelation by students for in-climate conditions may result in a late cancellation fee, but  lessons canceled by Champion Driving Logistics due to weather conditions will be rescheduled as soon as possible with no additional charge.

Grading Policy
Skill progress is assessed using a skill check list. The instructor is usually available to talk with you immediately following each lesson for information regarding progress and tips for practicing at home.

In Car Instruction Policy
Students will be alone in the car with the instructor during private lessons. All instructors have been vetted and background checked, and are supervised for professionalism and quality. Instructors who are considered to represent Champion Driving Logistics have a minimum of 5 years of driver education instruction and hold a Bachlors and Masters Degree in Education.

Because driving is personal and safety is a major concern, parents, partners, and others are not allowed to be in the car during the lesson. However, exceptions may be considered by the school director in cases where language and communication may be an issue. Otherwise, we will do all we can to help accommodate any situation where the student is going to be driving alone with the instructor.

Refund Policy

  • Refund computations will be based on actual instruction received through the last date of attendance.

  • The effective date of the termination for refund purposes will be the earliest of the following:

  • After the expiration of the 24-hour cancellation privilege, if the student  terminates enrollment, or withdraws, refunds are prorated based on the number of lessons remaining after the initial tuition and online materials fees are subtracted from the total paid to the school. Individual additional lessons fees and/or deposits are non-refundable.

  • Fees paid for online course work, such as National Driver Training or other digital or printed copy materials are not refundable.

  • A full refund of all tuition and fees is due and refundable in each of the following cases: (a) when an enrollee is not accepted by the school; (b) if the course of instruction is discontinued by the school at this location; or (c) if the student’s enrollment was procured as a result of any misrepresentation in advertising, promotional materials of the school, or misrepresentation by the owner or representation of the school.

Refunds shall be completed within 30 days after the effective date of termination.

Code of Conduct
A student or prospective student may be dismissed or barred from the school for tardiness; drunkenness or obvious signs of drug use; rude, vulgar or disruptive behavior; smoking or using tobacco products; using a cell phone in the car. Students who arrive unable to participate in their lesson or whose lesson needs to be stopped early due to behavior issues will be charged a no-show fee.

Students terminated for violating rules of conduct may be readmitted at the discretion of the school director.

NOTICE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF TEEN STUDENTS
As the parent or guardian of a teenager, you are entitled to know the minimum requirements of a teen driver education course.

  • There are thirty-two (32) required hours of classroom instruction.  Your teen must attend the first six (6) hours of classroom instruction before a learner’s permit will be issued by DPS.  Only two (2) hours of scheduled classroom instruction are permitted per day. Phase II students will not be accepted for enrollment until all thirty-two hours are completed.  Full Course students are participating in concurrent program and may start driving lessons as soon as they have a learning permit but must still finish all 32 classroom hours.

  • Thirty (30) additional clock hours of behind-the-wheel instruction must be provided to young drivers and certified by a parent or guardian before a teenager may progress to Phase 2 of the Texas’ Graduated Driver Licensing program.

  • If your teen transfers to another school or driver training program, timelines may change and credits for classroom and/or in-car training may not be transferable to the new driver training school.

  • The entire driver education course must be completed within the timelines stated in this contract.  (Note:  During peak enrollment periods, in-car instruction times could be subject to availability.)

  • IF YOU HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT BEING MET OR HAVE A COMPLAINT, PLEASE CONTACT Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation by phone (512) 463-6599 or by email intake@tdlr.texas.gov
